New Smyrna Speedway played host to their annual World Series of Asphalt Racing last week. Slated for 6 nights of Pro Late Model racing, and the debut for Monahan Motorsports, the team prepared one of the fastest Pro Late Models to take on the field all week long.

Speedweeks opened up with a 60-lap race on Night #1, Friday, February 6th. After a strong qualifying effort in P2 with the Whelen Engineering #31 led by veteran crew chief Scott Anderson, Brody's race was cut short before the first lap completed after an eager move by another competitor into turn one created havoc for Monahan and others by the exit of turn two.

Race number 2 followed up on Sunday, February 8th, and allowed for just enough time to make repairs to the primary Monahan Motorsports car without having to unload a backup. Continuing with the speed shown on Night #1, Brody earned the pole for the evening's 60-lap event, and he quickly got out to an early lead that maintained all race until 10 to go. The race was plagued with yellow flags, and Brody lost the lead on a restart on lap 47, falling back to 3rd. Ultimately, the race was shortened after carrying past the allotted time of the race, so the checkered flag officially flew on Lap 54. The podium finish was not what Monahan had hoped for after being the dominant car all race, but he was content with the turnaround in results after an unlucky night one. However, the night ended with disappointment again as Monahan failed post-race inspection after a left-side weight violation of being 0.2% over the legal limit scored him as a DQ.

The 3rd Pro Late Model race of Speedweeks was where Monahan's luck began to turn around. Again, showing excellent qualifying speed, Brody positioned 4th on the starting grid. Jumping to the lead by the second lap, Monahan led the field to the checkered flag in dominant fashion, winning by over 5 seconds ahead of P2. Tech inspection added sparks again at the end of the night. Officials pulled the motor from the Monahan Motorsports #31 car and held it overnight without completing inspection until the following morning. Per their findings, the motor passed every form of inspection and Brody was declared the official winner from the Monday night race, marking this win as Monahan Motorsports' first win since inception in early 2026.

Race number 4 of the week got off to a slow start after having to reassemble the racecar on the morning of raceday while tech held the motor overnight. Brody missed the first practice, but he picked up right where he left off and earned another top-qualifier award and an interview with Bob Dillner of FloRacing. Tuesday night was shaping up to be a replica of the night before. Scott Anderson had prepared another incredible racecar, and Monahan was driving it for all it was worth. Leading every lap and holding off many restarts, Brody faced a new challenge on lap 54. While on a restart, the 2nd place car knew the only way he would get past the No.31 was with use of the bumper. Car #44 drove into turn 3, squared up to Brody's back bumper, and did not lift until he was turned sideways. This prompted another yellow flag, and Brody was forced to restart at the tail of the field as a result of being intentionally spun from the lead. Hope was not all lost, though, as Brody battled back to a P8 finish at the checkered flag.

With only two races remaining in the Pro Late Model division, Monahan Motorsports was onto Wednesday, February 11th for the final 60-lap race before the big 100-lapper on Thursday. Again, a strong qualifying effort of 2nd showed the speed that the racecar had all week long. A hefty invert had Brody starting outside the top 5, and of course this was a night where cautions were at a minimum. Taking just under 25 minutes to complete all 60-laps, Brody was able to drive up to a p4 finish, building lots of momentum heading into the final night.

Night 6 arrived on Thursday, February 12th, and with that brought the Hart to Heart 100 for the Pro Late Model division. Claiming his 3rd pole award of the week with a time of 17.983, Brody was the only driver to break into the 17-second bracket over the course of Speedweeks. The biggest invert of the week pushed him back to a p8 starting spot. Slowly working his way up the field, Brody had climbed to P2 by lap 64, just past halfway. Unfortunately, while running second, a right front tire went flat on the #31 machine on lap 85, ending Monahan Motorsports' final shot at victory lane in the 2026 World Series. In order to protect the car, the team made the decision to park it after the flat tire when there was an unlikely chance of being able to reclaim track position with only 15 laps to go.

Overall, the week produced all of the emotions you can have in racing: from the lows at the beginning of the week with a torn-up racecar on night one and a simple tech infraction on night two, to the dominant victory on night 3. Altogether, the No.31 car led 158 of 400 total laps, picked up 3 of 6 pole awards with no worse qualifying effort than 4th, and found the podium twice.

This year's Speedweeks left a bright outlook on the season that lies ahead for Monahan Motorsports.
