The weekend at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway marked a significant milestone for Monahan Motorsports and driver Brody Monahan. It was the first time the CARS Tour visited Nashville, and the excitement was palpable. Brody’s performance throughout the weekend showed strong potential and determination, especially considering it was his debut race at this historic track. From practice sessions to the final laps of the 100-lap race, Monahan Motorsports demonstrated consistent speed and proved to be a top contender in the CARS Tour.

Friday Practice Sets the Tone
The weekend began with practice on Friday, where Brody Monahan and the Monahan Motorsports #31 car quickly found their rhythm. After the first day of testing, Brody expressed his satisfaction with how the car was handling. He described the car as feeling “great” and was optimistic about the upcoming race day. This positive feedback was a promising sign for the team, indicating that their preparation and setup were on the right track.
The practice sessions allowed Brody to familiarize himself with the track’s unique characteristics. Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway, known for its banked turns and challenging bumpy surface, demands precision and patience. Brody’s ability to adapt quickly was evident as he steadily improved his lap times throughout the day.
Saturday Practice and Qualifying Highlights
Saturday brought two more rounds of practice, where Brody continued to impress. In the final round, he posted the fastest time among 36 Pro Late Models, showcasing his speed and adaptability to the track. This achievement was a clear indicator that Brody and the #31 car were ready to compete up front for the upcoming 100-lap race.
Qualifying was a nail-biting moment. Brody secured third on the starting grid, missing the pole by a mere 0.066 seconds. This close margin shows just how competitive the CARS Tour Pro Late Model division is. Having track position early would later prove key as completing passes around the .596 oval was an enduring task.

The 100-Lap Race: Patience and Persistence
Brody’s first race at Nashville was a test of patience and racecraft. Knowing the track’s demands, he focused on maintaining his track position without taking unnecessary risks. On the initial start, Brody did not get a good launch in the start zone, so he settled into P4. For much of the race, Brody ran inside the top five, holding 4th position during the early laps.
By lap 35, Brody moved up to third, where he stayed for a significant portion of the showdown. He applied pressure on the second-place driver for many laps but was unable to find the momentum to make a pass. The race was mostly green flag conditions, with only a few minor cautions, which kept the pace fast and spread the field out over the long runs.
On lap 54, a caution slowed the race, and the restart shuffled Brody back to fourth place again. Despite this setback, he remained focused and kept his car in the mix. With 20 laps remaining, he dropped to fifth, and in the final 10 laps, he slipped to sixth. Even though he finished just outside the top five, Brody’s performance was impressive for a first-timer at Nashville.
Clean Racing and Strong Competition at Nashville Fairgrounds
The CARS Tour’s debut at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway was notable for its clean racing. The event featured minimal yellow flags, allowing drivers to race hard and get into a rhythm.
Brody’s ability to run up front all race long, especially in such a competitive and clean race, speaks volumes about the quality of Monahan Motorsports. The team’s preparation and Brody’s driving combined to deliver a strong showing that fans and sponsors can be proud of.
A Team Effort Worth Celebrating
Behind every successful race weekend is a dedicated team. Monahan Motorsports extends its gratitude to the crew members and crew chief Scott Anderson, whose hard work and expertise prepared a phenomenal racecar. Their efforts ensured that Brody had the tools needed to compete at the front.
The team also thanks Whelen Motorsports, Mahoney Family Racing, and all supporters from across the country. This collective support fuels the team’s drive and it does not go unnoticed, making every race a shared victory.
Looking Ahead to Caraway Speedway
Monahan Motorsports is already turning its focus to the next challenge. The third race of the CARS Tour will take place at Caraway Speedway on April 25th. This upcoming event offers another opportunity for Brody and the team to build on their momentum and continue competing in the premier touring series of the southeast.
